COBB ROAD ESTATE
This estate in Watermill overlooking Mecox Bay includes a four story main house, pool house, three guest houses, a staff/security house and a windmill — all of which was built by MR in conjunction with Thorpe Landscapes.
The original property was built in the 1890s in the Georgian style. MR redesigned the house with elements that are relevant to the time, but with a fresh and modern approach.
This property was designed as a place the client could spend summers with ample room to host guests. With that in mind, the main house features a master suite that can be entirely closed off to guests. The cellar is the main entertainment space featuring a bar/lounge, movie theater, gym, and spa.
The project features specialty finishes and materials throughout including a blue venetian plaster in the double height entry, linen wrapped paneling and molding in the dining room, hand painted De Gournay wall covering in the powder room and library, and custom patterned soapstone/wood flooring to name a few.
My role on the design team included specifying, invoicing, and ordering all FF&E, drafting plans, elevations, and custom furniture designs, sourcing hard and soft materials, local and international furniture sourcing, client shopping trips, extensive decorative styling and art sourcing, tracking and delivery coordination, coordinating contractors and craftsmen, and executing an extensive installation.
